Yesterday was Earth Day, a day when many worship “Mother Earth.” In that view, mankind is a blight on earth and we’re responsible for everything bad that’s happening to our planet. But what’s the biblical worldview?
Well, caring for Earth is important. In Genesis, God gave humanity the mandate to have dominion over creation and gave Adam the job of tending and caring for the garden. But our care shouldn’t turn into worship. We’re to wisely care for the Earth, understanding we’re just stewards and ultimately everything belongs to and is controlled by God.
So don’t jump on every environmental claim. Be a wise and biblical steward!
