Carbon-14 in Coal

Yesterday, we learned that coal can form quickly. Now, many people believe it took millions of years to produce all the coal we have today. But is the evidence consistent with this idea? Not at all!

You may’ve heard of Carbon-14 dating. Well, this form of carbon decays quickly, disappearing after just tens of thousands of years. And yet this carbon is found in coal deposits! So the coal can’t be millions of years old, or all the carbon fourteen would be gone.

The Bible’s history provides the true age for coal. Most of these deposits were initially formed during the year-long, catastrophic global flood just thousands of years ago.
