Before Jesus’ death and resurrection, his disciples didn’t understand Jesus had come to die. When he was arrested, they scattered and hid. Peter even denied Jesus.
And yet just weeks after the resurrection, they were preaching and also suffering persecution! Their lives were radically changed when they met the risen Lord.
The disciples stood in front of thousands of people in Jerusalem and said, “you crucified Jesus, but he is risen.” If they’d just made Jesus up, their message would be crazy. No one would remember this very public event that had happened just a few weeks before!
We can have full confidence that Jesus really lived!
