Sometimes you’ll hear skeptics claim Jesus never even lived. But consider that the Jewish historian Josephus recorded the execution of James and added that he was “the brother of Jesus who was called the Christ.”
Another historian, the Roman Tacitus, wrote about the burning of Rome. He said rumors began spreading that Nero started the blaze, so he blamed it on the Christians. And Tacitus explains they were named after Christ who was executed by Pontius Pilate.
These are just two of the many non-Christian, early sources that mention Jesus. To say Christians made him up is to ignore the Bible and history.
