Some people say we can’t be dogmatic about things like the age of the earth. They say we can’t really know what the book of Genesis really means.
Well, if that’s you, consider these questions: Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead? That he walked on water? That he fed five thousand with five loaves and two fish? You probably do! And why? Well, because the Bible says so!
Now, do you believe God created in six days a few thousand years ago? If not, why? Well, most Christians will say “because scientists say….” And there’s the problem! Man, not God, is your ultimate authority.
Yes, we can be dogmatic about truth—when we start from God’s Word.
