Theology—Dependent on Feelings?

Theology refers to the study of God: who he is and what he’s done. Now, what should shape our theology?

Well, earlier this year I read a news item regarding the Church of England. It was considering changing their theology to include “gender neutral” terms for God. This tells us two things about their theology:

One. They don’t care about how God has revealed himself to us because he’s done so as he: Father, Son, and King.

And two. The subjective feelings of our culture are forming their theology. God isn’t their authority—man is!

But feelings don’t determine truth. Instead, let’s get our theology straight from God’s very Word.
