I often hear from parents who want their children to be like “missionaries” in the public education system. But I remind them—children can’t be salt there until they have salt!
Children aren’t mini-adults with maturity and a fully developed biblical worldview. They’re impressionable children, having their minds shaped and molded by those around them.
And God’s given the primary responsibility of shaping children to parents. Now, Sunday is Mother’s Day in the US, a time when we especially appreciate mothers. And my challenge to moms this year would be: remember how vital and worthwhile your work is, as you fill your children with the salt of God’s Word.
