This is Ken Ham, editor of the popular series of books The Answers Book for Kids.

In the Grand Canyon there are rock layers that were somehow folded. Now, hard rock can’t fold—it’ll fracture! So, how’d this happen?

Well, there’re two views:

  1. These layers were slowly laid down over millions of years, then heated and bent.
  2. These layers were rapidly laid down by a flood, a few thousand years ago. They were bent while still soft.

Creation geologist Dr. Andrew Snelling is the first scientist to test to see which view matches the evidence. His research project found, well, no evidence the rocks were ever heated and then bent. The rocks must’ve been rapidly laid down by a massive Flood and then bent while soft.
