What Is the Result of the Judgment Seat of Christ?

Welcome to Prophecy Q & A with Jimmy DeYoung!

We will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. We will be judged for our works, whether good or bad. Once we come to know Christ as Lord and Savior (We are not saved by works but by grace through faith – Ephesians 2;8-9). We are created unto good works (Ephesians 2:10). As we come to Christ in salvation, then we are created to do good works.

If we don’t do good works and all of our works are bad, we will lose rewards. 1 Corinthians 3 lays out how the Judgment Seat of Christ is going to take place. At the time of the Rapture of the Church, we will stand before Jesus Christ, and the Judgment Seat of Christ begins to take place in front of everyone, as far as I understand it. This will be the reason that some sorrow will take place. It says that wood, hay, and stubble works will be burned up when they are dropped down into the fire, and the gold, silver, and precious stones works will simply be purified (1 Corinthians 3) when they come back up out of the fire.

The gold, silver, and precious stone works are the works that we do in His power and for His glory. We will receive rewards for those works. The wood, hay, and stubble works are the works that we do in our power for our glory. We need to become Christo-centric, Christ-centered, not egocentric. We need to work for Him. If no one says a word, rejoice and go ahead praising His name, because at the Judgment Seat of Christ, we will receive rewards for those.

There will be sorrow because we will suffer and our works will be burned. They won’t receive rewards, or crowns.

Some of the crowns we might receive would be:

  1. Crown of Incorruptibility (1 Corinthians 9:27) for bringing your body under subjection
  2. Crown of Life (James 1:12) for not yielding to temptation
  3. Crown of Rejoicing (1 Thessalonians 2:19) for being a soul winner
  4. Crown of Glory (1 Peter 5:1-4) for helping to build a body of Christ
  5. Crown of Righteousness (2 Timothy 4:7-8) for those who love His appearing

Revelation 4:10 says that we will take those crowns that we receive at the Judgment Seat of Christ and lay them at the feet of Jesus Christ in thanksgiving for what He has done.

Revelation 22:12, when Jesus comes with our reward, they determine what our eternal job description will be. Live today in preparation for that time. Set your focus, getting rid of those ambitions, attitudes, attractions, and achievements that you think are great, on Jesus Christ.

Jimmy DeYoung was a prophecy teacher and journalist who travelled the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. His goal was to equip Christians with the knowledge and understanding of what God’s Word says will happen someday soon, so that they can make better decisions today. Dr. DeYoung went home to be with his Savior on August 15, 2021.
